to tattoo or not tattoo

What do you think? I had the notion that I might like to get a tiny star tattoo for each 10 lb I lost. Do you have tattoos and do you regret them or love them? Don’t worry the pic is just an example of the style of stars I like. I have’t taken the plunge yet. I look forward to your comments, post them on the blog.

I think it’s a fantastic idea. I have a tatoo and I love it. Every time i look at it I am reminded of something special. When it is for something as amazing as what you have done it will constantly remind you of your hard work, dedication and perserverance. What a reward!
My next tatoo will be of Ethans tiny little hand prints on my back. Which will also remind me of hard work, dedication and perserverance!

I love my tattoo (it is my Ironman tattoo). I agree with Meghan – when I look at mine I am reminded of an accomplishment of mine that I am so proud of and it is special to me. It sounds like your tattoos will be very meaningful to you, but I think it is important to get the tattoo on a part of your body that you won’t regret later. I know someone who got her tattoo close to her chest and now, after a few kids, the tattoo ain’t looking so pretty anymore (so she tells me). I imagine you will have lots of stars!!

I actually have about 8 at latest count, 6 on my….well never mind. Actually just kidding. I have none. Not because I am not interested, but because each time I decide what to do, the idea being very ‘innovative’, time passes, I don’t get it done and then much later 6 million people have picked up the same idea..

Then there is the thing people keep telling me about tatoos..” Be careful where you get them because in time they can sag and look terrible” Well, that is one bonus. I have time working FOR me. That tatoo that I DIDN”T get 40 years ago, is NOT sagging, and the body has arrived where it will. Maybe I will wait til I am 80 and get photos of all four daughters tatooed on my back..

I’ve got about 6 of them and I don’t regret any of them. Like the others have said, they remind you of something/someone special. I want more!

Love your blog. I have five tattoo’s. They all have significant meaning to me and I don’t regret any of them. When I’m old and things begin to sag/wrinkle I really won’t give a hoot what they look like because the meaning remains the same. Besides it’ll be interesting coffee talk. One warning, they are very addictive.

I just googled “Star tattoo” and got the image on your page as a result. The reason I googled that, was because I was looking for a star design to use for my 10 pound weight loss rewards also. I think it’s a great idea, but I haven’t decided 100% to do it yet either. I do have one tattoo that I love, and do not regret. Good luck with the weight loss!
